The Miss Columbus committee is working on the 2018 cookbook, you have until March 31 to turn in a recipe for the book. If you turn in a recipe we ask that you prepare that dish for the Tasting Bee on June 1. Since the community is celebrating their 150th there will also be some stories of the early years of Columbus. Eight girls are participating in the Miss Columbus program this year. You can turn in your recipe to one of the girls, Fawna, or Gracie at Farm Bureau Insurance or the Chamber office.
Janet Lindsey, Labette Bank, and I are working on a fundraiser to be held during the all school reunion. We are making some Titan t-shirt throws for a raffle. We do need your help - if you have Titan t-shirts that you no longer wear, we could use them. It doesn't matter what color or sport, well worn or not, we will be cutting them up. It takes about 20 shirts per throw, you can drop them off here at the Chamber office. Thanks in advance, proceeds would go into the Chamber general fund.
Be sure and register your company team for the annual Chamber golf tournament, April 15. Register with Jamie or Mike at Mike Carpino Ford. The Miss Columbus candidates will be helping out that day.
Tuesday, March 13 Executive meeting, noon
Wednesday, March 14 Board meeting, noon at community building. Members are encouraged to attend and give input. We do ask that you advise if attending, so enough lunch will be on hand.
Thursday, March 15 Fire Up for Fireworks cookout. The first cookout for the season, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Note: location change, will be in front of the community building. Mercy hospital staff will be doing the grilling of hamburgers, hot dogs or sausage; with chips and a drink for $6. The community wanted Class B fireworks this year and they are $10,000. You have $2,700 in the account, so there is a long way to go by May (they need to be paid for by then).
