Scripture: Luke (NIV) 19:31 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it.'” 32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34 They replied, “The Lord needs it.” 35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.

Observation: The Lord knew where they would find what He needed. He knew the owners would allow the colt to be available to Him. From the scriptures we get the idea that those sent for the colt did not have to convince the owners of the benefit they would have if they allowed the Lord to use their colt. Knowing that the Lord needed it was enough for them to release it.

Application: I wonder what it might be that God has entrusted to my care until the time He needs it. I want to be as willing to release what is in my hand as the colt's owners were to release the colt to be used by the Lord.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to see myself as a steward of what you have placed in my hand. It all belongs to you. Use me and my possessions for your glory! Amen
