On Sunday, March 1st 2009 the Columbus FFA and Alumni will be holding a Farm Toy Show, with the proceeds going to benefit scholarships for Columbus FFA Members.  This is the second year for the Farm Toy Show.  There will be approximately thirty-eight tables of exhibits with everything from farm toys, trucks, construction, and racecars. It is to be held in the Columbus Unified High School Cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Admission is three dollars per person, and children ten and under is free.  There will be concessions available and door prize drawings every hour.

When speaking with twenty-three year collector and Alumni member Jay Justice, he gave some helpful advice for selecting toys.  Purchase the toys in the original box if possible.  Also, look for boxes with labels that are misprinted; they are worth much more due to their rarity.  Exhibitors don’t just bring toys, they also bring different types of memorabilia.  “There is no end to collecting,” said Justice.  For show information contact Jay Justice at (620) 674-1402 or (620) 597-2428.  And from the Columbus FFA and Alumni members, we hope to see you at the Farm Toy Show on March 1.
