The children are back in school…the evening air is turning cooler…and for those who love to sew

it's time to think about the Make It With Wool Contest.

The date for District VI, of which Cherokee County is a part, is Saturday, October 17th in

Fredonia. Nineteen counties are included in this district contest which has 5 divisions: Pre-Teen

(12 & under), Junior (13-16), Senior (17-24), Adult (over 24) and Made for Others.

Registrations are typically due two weeks in advance and require a sample of the fabric. Forms

are available at the Extension Office.

Those desiring more information can contact the District VI Director Tricia Couch @ 620-633-

9200 or Tricia will also accept offers of volunteer help or contributions

from anyone - individual or business.

There are Door Prizes, Gifts for Contestants, Parent Activities and Refreshments. District

winners advance to the state contest in Manhattan; state winners advance to the national contest

in Nashville.

So, get ready to sew, October will be here soon!
