Coffeyville Community College Business Professionals of America (BPA) students attended the state competition and qualified to represent the College at the National Leadership Conference.

Melissa Abbot of Galena,  and Donna Baldwin of Baxter Springs, teamed up to take first place in the Administrative Support Team competition.  Both are students at the CCC Columbus Technical Campus.

 Anthony Adams and Jack Barnes both of Coffeyville, Kan. took first place in the Network Design Team competition.  Both are students at the CCC Coffeyville Technical Campus.

 “The judge followed them out of the room and told them it was one of the best presentations he had heard in a long time,” said instructor Tina Logan.

Adams also took sixth place in the Microsoft Network Administration.  Barnes took second place in the Desktop Publishing contest and third place in the Computer Security competition.

 CCC Coffeyville Technical campus students also won in other areas.  Frederick Bunch of Caney, Kan. took fifth place in the Microsoft Network Administration contest. Gayle Gray of Coffeyville, Kan. took first place in the Legal Office Procedures contest and fourth in Interview Skills.  Christian Negru of Caney, Kan. took first in Cisco Administration; second in Microsoft Network Administration and fifth in Computer Security.  Jonathan Vail of Coffeyville, Kan. took sixth place in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting; fourth place in Computer Security and third place in Microsoft Network Administration.  Jeremy Willard of Neodesha, Kan. took first place in Microsoft Network Administration; second in Fundamentals of XHTML and second place in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting.

 “Our students will compete against other post-secondary students in various business competitions from both 2- and 4-year universities,” said instructor Brian Morris.  “It's a tremendous honor for each of these students to have qualified for competition at the National Level.”

 The CCC students will represent the College at the national conference in Dallas, Tex.
