"I am running for re-election for my fourth term as Cherokee County Treasurer. My husband Tim and I live in Columbus and we have been married for 22 years. We have two sons, Samuel, who is 10 years old and Jonathan, who is 8 years old. They both go to school in Columbus, Sam will be a 5th grader at Central and Jon will be a 3rd grader at Highland.

"I have worked for Cherokee County for over 21 years. I started in the Appraisers Office in May of 1991 as a personal property clerk until transferring to the Treasurer's office in February of 1995, where I have worked as a vehicle clerk, real estate clerk, vehicle supervisor, Deputy Treasurer and now County Treasurer.

"I am a member of the Kansas County Treasurers Association, The National Association of County Collectors Treasurer's and Finance Officers and the South East Kansas Treasurer's Association. In the past I have served as the treasurer of the Southeast Kansas Treasurer's Association.

"In June 2008, I was certified from Fort Hays State University as a Certified Kansas County Treasurer.

"In June 2009, I was certified from Fort Hays State University as a Certified Kansas County Finance Officer. In June 2011, I was certified from Fort Hays University as a Certified Kansas County Finance Manager. I have completed three of the four levels to be completely certified as a Kansas County Treasurer Finance Executive Officer. Level four certification will be complete in 2013.
