Clifford A. Sappington of Fayette, Alabama, died Dec. 7, 2016 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was 69.
Sappington was a 1966 graduate of Quapaw High School. Shortly after graduation, he began working at the B.F. Goodrich plant in Miami. When the plant closed 19 years later, he moved his family to Tuscaloosa to work at the plant there as a supervisor. He retired after 35 years of service.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being outdoors. He also loved watching his grandchildren in all their activities and being a volunteer fireman at the Mayfield Fire Department.
His father, Lee Roy Sappington, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dianne Sappington of Fayette, Alabama, a daughter, Aimee Dianne Guin of Northport, Alabama; a son, Mark Allen Sappington of Birmingham, Alabama; a sister, Sharon Neal of Miami; his mother, Marjorie Sappington of Miami; grandchildren, Courtney Elyse Sappington of Honolulu, Hawaii; Kyle Allen Sappington of Birmingham, Alabama; Erica Dianne Senkbeil of Northport, Alabama; Anna Marie Caldwell of Dadeville, Alabama, and Devin Lee Guin of Northport, Alabama, and one great-grandchild, Brayleigh Caldwell.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Moore’s Bridge Baptist Church with Bro. Brannon Pinion officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Sappington, Devin Guin, Josh Senkbeil, Eddie Ellis, Dave White and Doug Edmonds. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Caldwell, Dr. Green, Dr. Hill, members of the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department, members of Moore’s Bridge Baptist Church and the Moore’s Bridge community.
