Fundraiser for Deidre Johnston Spahn
Family and friends of Deidre Johnston Spahn are coming together to hold a raffle, silent auction, chili feed and bake sale on Feb. 25, to help Deidre and her family.
Deidre's husband, John, died unexpectedly in August 2012. Then, in January 2016, Deidre was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and she has been undergoing treatment since.
Deidre grew up in McCune, graduated from Southeast High School in 1994, and until her diagnosis, she had been operating a children's daycare in her home in Weir. The Spahn's have three children: Karlena and Kyler are students at Southeast, and Bryson is now a student at the University of Kansas.
The fundraiser will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 25, at PittNaz on East Quincy Street in Pittsburg.
Donated items of food or products to be auctioned off would be appreciated and may be dropped off at PittNaz on East Quincy in Pittsburg on Friday, Feb. 24, starting at 6 p.m., or anytime Saturday morning.
