Good Morning,

Thanks to the City of Columbus and to Columbus News Report for stepping forward for additional help with the Easter Egg Hunt. Candy has been ordered, trinkets have been ordered and have arrived, along with plastic eggs, which I will begin to fill soon. Remember, we have made some changes for this year - for the youngest age group the children have to be walking, in order to pick up the eggs. As always, we ask that parents let the children to the egg hunt. Times will be staggered, starting at 10 a.m. and then followed by the other age groups every 10 minutes.

If you know of a young lady that would like to participate in the Miss Columbus program (ages 16 through high school) those applications need to be turned in by this Friday, March 3, to either the Chamber office or to a committee member. There must be seven girts for the program.

This week:

Wednesday, March 1 Youth ent. competition at high school

Thursday, March 2 Lions Club bean/soup feed, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at community building

Friday, March 3 Miss Columbus application due

Sunday, March 5 Art reception at Maple UnCommon Hotel & Gallery from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Monday, March 6 City Council, 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, March 7 Executive committee (Chamber officers) will meet at noon

Wednesday, March 8 Chamber board meeting, noon at community building. Remember, members are encouraged to attend - this is your Chamber. We do ask, if you plan on attending to advise the office in order to have enough lunch on hand.

Thursday, March 9 Fire-up for Fireworks cookout, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Maple UnCommon Hotel. Will be serving hamburgers, polish sausage and hot dogs with chips and a drink for $6. Farmers co-op will be the grill master for this month. We do need some help during those hours - wrap, serve.

Mark on your calendar:

Columbus Day committee met last week, lining up entertainment for the day. Receiving vendor space bookings, pilots are RSVPing, sponsorship's are coming in for the balloon regatta. Still need someone to handle the car show.

Have a good week,
