BAXTER SPRINGS - Vicki Bradley, the Board Clerk for USD 508 Baxter Springs, was named the 31st recipient of the Kansas Association of School Business Officials Distinguished Service Award at the annual meeting in Wichita in April. This is the highest honor a member can receive and is awarded for a career of outstanding service to KASBO and to education in Kansas.

Vicki’s 38-year career at Baxter Springs began in February 1979 as the Secretary to the Superintendent. She was named Clerk of the Board of Education in 1990 and has served in that position for the past 27 years.

She has also been very active in her community. She has served as secretary and president of the Baxter Springs Chamber of Commerce and has been an active member in the Tennessee Prairie Church. Vicki was chair of her Columbus High School Alumni Group and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Vicki began her KASBO service as a committee member in 2007. She then served a one year term on the KASBO Board of Directors before beginning her service as KASBO Secretary in 2010.
