MIAMI, Okla. - Though their physical location is just south of the state line, U.S. Cellular is commemorating its extension of services in Southeast Kansas by joining the Baxter Springs Chamber of Commerce. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 1, celebrating U.S. Cellular's commitment to reaching out to the heart of the community. Root beer floats were served to customers throughout the day.

Located at 2311 N. Main Street in Miami, U.S. Cellular Miami Premier Locations is an exclusive Authorized Agent for U.S. Cellular. If you visit the store between July 10 and July 15, you may notice they'll be operating out of a tent in front of the building. Area Sales Manager Steve Neuman said the facility is about to undergo a major upgrade.

The Chicago-based company is the fifth-largest full-service wireless carrier in the United States, serving five million customers in 426 markets in 23 U.S. states, as of the first quarter of 2017. U.S. Cellular was formed in 1983 as a subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems (TDS), Inc., which still owns an 84 percent stake.
