Good Morning, they say it is suppose to be hot this week - really, this is July and county fair is just around the corner - it is always hot.
If you have kids or grand kids or yourself and you ride the rides during fair, don't forget we have armband tickets on sale now, this will save you at least $5 by purchasing in advance. Fair is July 25-29. In advance, armbands are $20 per person, one night. If you wait and purchase on fairgrounds they will be at least $25. They can be purchased at American Bank (also in Baxter and Galana) Commerce Bank, Exchange State Bank, Babette Bank, City Hall, Evans Drug, Farm Bureau Insurance and the Chamber office. Crossland Construction also have them available for their employees. Please, don't wait until the last minute to purchase - you may be out of luck.
We also have Fair Books in the office, if you need one.
The agriculture committee is working on their fall Ag EXPO for September 28. Invitations have gone out to several area businesses, who cater to those working with agriculture. If you provide any type of product for agriculture, we are taking vendor know. Space is $30 and that includes two tickets for lunch and for dinner. The committee is working on workshops to be held during the day.
Tickets are now available for the "Members ONLY" concert to be held Saturday evening of the Columbus Day Festival. Tickets are $10 per person or VIP ticket for $20 which includes a "Meet & Greet" with the band, table in the balcony and dinner. Limited tickets. The event will be held at the State Theater Event Center. Tickets may be purchased at the Chamber office, Jay Hatfield Chevrolet or Mike Carping Ford (these businesses are also sponsoring the concert).
Board meeting is Wednesday, members are encouraged to attend and give input. We do ask that you advise, in order to have enough lunch on hand.
