COLUMBUS - Cherokee County just got a major injection of class, with a swanky new joint opening up in Columbus. The State Theatre Event Center, located at 104 W. Pine in Columbus, celebrated it's grand opening on Aug. 10. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce commemorated it's newest member with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour of the center Thursday morning, but that evening residents really got a chance to see the place in action: Team Threads hosted a Back-to-School Fashion Show. Teachers and students got to be the models, as they displayed the new fall designs on a custom built runway.
The historic State Theatre has been painstakingly renovated into a luxurious, unique event center facility. The center also boasts a beautiful courtyard with solar LED lighted umbrellas and outdoor music. Specializing in weddings and large events, reservations can be made at 620-674-2082 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
As part of this year's Columbus Days Festival, State Theatre will host a special concert from 80's tribute band: Members Only. Sponsored by Mike Carpino Ford, Jay Hatfield Companies and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, the concert will take place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7. Advance tickets can be purchased for $10 at either Jay Hatfield Chevrolet, Mike Carpino Ford, or the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. Tickets at the door will be $15.
