BAXTER SPRINGS - Three local churches gathered this past Sunday to really make a tangible impact on their community. The day of service brought together parishioners from First Christian Church, Bethel Community Church and Crossroads Christian Church spent Sept. 10 providing services around the town.

The volunteers mowed lawns, trimmed trees, and provided all sorts of services. The services weren't just for the elderly or disabled, but for anyone who could use a hand or even just have some chores done to spend a few extra hours with their families. The day ended with a large communal service at Kiwanis Park.
