CHEROKEE - USD 247 Superintendent Brad Miner announced that the Southeast Booster Club was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the recent Pritchett Trust.
The grant was part of over $458,000 awarded to 46 projects in Southeast Kansas at a ceremony held by the trust on Sept. 7.
"The Booster Club will use the grant funds to contribute to the construction of a new concession building with restrooms for the football, baseball, softball, and track facilities," said Dr. Miner.
The Pritchett Trust was created in 1994 after Pittsburg residents William B. Pritchett and Athlyn C. Pritchett. The purpose of the trust to to improve the region by awarding grants to local schools, service organizations and more. Since the first grants were awarded in 1995, the trust has awarded more than $8.8 million to organizations in Crawford County and Southeast Kansas.
