Good Morning,

The Chamber Golf Tournament had to be canceled at the last minute yesterday morning. We were all out at the country club, ready to go and then the lightening started - so safety first. So it may or may not take place this year, we will see. Thanks to all of you who came out to play and to Jamie, Robbie and Mike for getting it all together.

Halloween Walk will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31, on Pine Street. Register with the Chamber office if your business would like to participate. We will do the "Trick or Trunk" again, it is easy on everyone - just pull in, open your trunk and hand out goodies. We usually have around 500 kids coming through. The committee will give Columbus gift certificates for the best decorated trunk, hatch or whatever you hand out of.

Be sure and help yourself out by giving Jamie at Mike Carpino Ford info on your business to post on the Chamber Facebook page. She will post pictures of your business, products that you have available, information about your business, what ever you provide. The info will stay up one week and then it will be changed to another Chamber member business. The first week she posted, by the end of the week there had been close to 3,000 hits. It's free advertising for your business and it is being seen. It can't be posted, if you don't send her the info.

Three weeks until the Columbus Day Festival/Hot Air Balloon Regatta - but who is counting. We think we have everything under control - except parking at the balloon field. We can not find anyone one or group to handle this, we will give the group 10 percent of what is taken in, usually around two hours each of the four planned balloon events. The funds are used to help with the liability insurance, which we must have.

General admission tickets are still available for the Members ONLY concert for Saturday evening, Oct. 7. They can be purchased at Mike Carpino Ford, Jay Hatfield Chevrolet and the Chamber office. If any are left by the event, they will be available day of for $15 per person. Doors will open for general admission ticket holders at 7:15 p.m. Everyone will be carded.

VIP ticket holders, the doors will open at 6 p.m., with a light dinner being served at 6:15 p.m., followed by meet and greet from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.

Miss Columbus pageant is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at CUHS auditorium. The new Miss Columbus, Little Mr. & Miss Columbus, and the Chris Award will be announced. The Mini-Miss, a program sponsored by the Miss Columbus candidates will entertain.

The tourism committee is having the bottom half of the trolley wrapped with scenes from the Columbus area, promoting what we have to offer those visiting our area. Vital Signs will have it ready by Columbus Days. We thank them, as we know this was short notice.
