What a nice weather week end, let's hope it holds for the next two weeks (the wind was just perfect for flying those balloons).

A reminder, you can pre-register for the 5K Run, Walk with American Bank for $18, day of run is $20. Pre-register with Marcia or Anthony at 429-5870 for the Car Show for $12, day of show $15.

Get a team of six together and join in the fun with the game of Foosball, on Friday evening during the bean feed, Oct. 6. Register with Coffeyvile Community College, Columbus campus, 429-3896.

Register your BBQ cook off team with Marta at Crossland Construction at 429-1414.

There are still tickets available for the Members ONLY concert on Saturday evening for $10. They can be purchased at Mike Carpino Ford, Jay Hatfield Chevrolet or Chamber office. If any are left, day of will be $15

This week:

Wednesday, Sept. 27 Columbus Day meeting, noon. This will be the last meeting before the festival.

Thursday, Sept. 28 Ag EXPO on fairgrounds, with workshops from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Committee members will begin at 8 a.m. to set up. At present, there are over 20 vendors, inside and out. Make plans to check out what is new in agriculture or attend one of the many workshops. KSU will also be on hand with a taste tasting of meat.

Saturday, Sept. 30 Miss Columbus Pageant, 7 p.m. at CUHS auditorium. The new Miss Columbus will be announced, the Little Mr. & Miss Columbus and the Chris award will be presented. The Miss Columbus candidates have worked hard these past months with several community service projects. We thank them for all of their hard work.

Monday, October 2 Day of Service, sponsored by the Columbus Community Foundation. A lot of students will be out and about the community helping with many different activities, helping to make our community look better.

Wednesday, October 4 All School reunion committee will meet at community building, noon

Christmas Celebration committee will also meet in Chamber office at noon.

October 6-8 Columbus Day/Hot Air Balloon Regatta.

We have a lot going on in the next two weeks, so try to take in as many activities as you can. Our volunteers have worked very hard on each of these to make our community better.
