COLUMBUS - While Homecoming festivities have flooded Columbus with Titan pride this past week, Friday night it was all business on the field. The Titans meticulously demolished the Prairie View Buffaloes of La Cygne 47-14.

Quarterback Ridge Smith didn't need many attempts to make his presence known to the Buffalo's secondary. Throwing 4-for-6 for 123 yards, and with zero interceptions, three of R. Smith's completed passes resulted in touchdowns. Senior Kale Smith was on the receiving end of each of those passes, totaling 100 receiving yards.

Columbus had yet another exceptional game on the ground as well, earning 251 rushing yards on 27 collective carries between nine players. Senior Keenan Stanley had ten of those carries, getting a thundering 117 yards and taking two all the way. Senior Dakota Sears and sophomore Grayson Walden had the other two Titan touchdown runs. Sears picked up a total 76 yards on just four carries, while Walden finished with 22 yards on five attempts.

The win bumps Columbus up to 5-0, and this coming Friday the Titans will really be put to the test as they face cross-county rival, the equally undefeated, Galena Bulldogs on their home turf. This match-up will have everyone interested in the CNC league's full attention as the two juggernauts square off to see whose record will remain spotless after week six. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Galena.
