Halloween Walk will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, on Pine St. It will be a "Trick or Trunk", if you are going to participate, just pull in to one of the parking spaces, open your trunk, hatch or tailgate and hand out your goodies from there. The committee will be giving Columbus girt certificates to the best decorated vehicle. We have had several businesses sign up to participate. There are usually around 500 kids participating in the event.
The Christmas Celebration committee will meet at noon this Wednesday, Oct. 25. Final plans will be made and a theme picked. This event will be Wednesday, Nov. 29. Vendors are welcome to sit up on the courthouse lawn, no fee, but we do ask that you advise the office, in order to make space for you. The committee will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs with chips on the SW corner of the square and proceeds will go toward the 4th of July fireworks. Other activities are being planned - we know that the Columbus FCCLA will be doing "Pictures with Santa" and Natalie's Studio of Dance will entertain before the parade. NOTE: The board voted at the first of the year that their will only be one Santa in the parade, so if you are doing a float or such, plan accordingly. Santa will ride on the Lion's firetruck.
Blood Bank will be in the community building, today (Monday) from 1 to 5:30 p.m.
All School Reunion committee will meet at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
Nominating committee will meet at noon on Thursday, Nov. 2.
First Christian Church will have their Bazaar, chili and soup lunch on Friday, Nov. 3.
Still waiting on a few bills to come in from the CDF before we can put it behind us for the year and start on the 2018 event.
Have a good week,
