JOPLIN, Mo. - Life Christian Volleyball Bears handily defeated the Joplin Destroyers 25-19 and 25-10, in their regular season finale, to finish with a 3-5 record. It's the first time their season standard has dropped below .500 since 2013.

In their opening contest, the locals lost a hard-fought match to the JMCA Raptros, 25-20 and 25-20, ensuring their first losing season in the last five years.

Delaney Reynolds led LCS to their first set win over the Destroyers with seven service points, including one ace and a pair of digs. Blake Brumback added two serve winners and three kills.

In the second-set blowout, the Bears trailed 7-6 when Alexa Stafford reeled off 12 straight winners to give Life Christian a commanding 18-7 lead. Then Trinity Brumback and Miss Reynolds added three and two service points respectively, to finish out the match. Blake Brumback pitched in with three serve winners, including two aces and three kills.

In the loss to the Raptors, Blake Brumback and Miss Reynolds dealt five serve winners apiece, while Miss Stafford contributed four serve points. Trinity Brumback, Kylee Brumback, and Ethan Leamon chipped in with two winners each.

Next outing for the Bears will be the MACC Postseason Tournament on Oct. 28.
