COLUMBUS - Instead of treats, it was cowardly tricks for one local restaurant Halloween night. Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves confirmed that a Mexican restaurant in Columbus was robbed at gunpoint at approximately 10 p.m. the night of Oct. 31.

Unofficial reports submitted to the Cherokee County News-Advocate have said the perpetrators were wearing Halloween masks and openly displayed firearms during the robbery. The Columbus Police Department is conducting the investigation, and have yet to release a statement, or any details on the case. Multiple attempts to reach the department for comment have been unsuccessful. More details forthcoming, as they become available.
