Good Morning, do hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

Time to move on to the Holiday Season.

The Christmas committee will be decorating the poles in order to have them ready for the kickoff of the season on Wednesday evening.

I noticed the city employees were hanging the Christmas stars. Thanks.

Christmas Celebration is this Wednesday, Nov 29. Pictures with Santa begins at 5 p.m. at Labette Bank. Farmers co-op will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs on the west side of the square serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. Could use some help with this. All proceeds will go toward the 2018 fireworks. Vendors will be on the courthouse lawn around 5 p.m. Natalie's Studio of Dance will perform in front of the courthouse at 6 p.m. followed by Highland School students with carols. Lions Club will do tree lighting at 6:55 pm. Parade is at 7 pm. Line up is from 6 to 6:45 p.m. on either side of Vermont or on Maple between Vermont and High School. Floats will be judged on site around 6:30 p.m. Prizes will be given in categories of religious and novelty.

Saturday, December 9 Holiday Fair, 4-H building, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tuesday, December 12 Executive meeting for officers (2017 and 2018 officers)

Wednesday, December 13 Board of Directors meet, Maple UnCommon Guest House. Remember, we encourage members to attend board meeting, give input. We do ask that you advise if you plan on attending in order to have enough lunch on hand.

Annual meeting is set for January 31 at the State Theatre Event Center. Tables are available for adoption by businesses. No fee, we just ask that you decorate the center, be sure and put your business name, and leave 10 table favors. Theme is based on the city 150th Celebration happening this year, so they are using "Through the Decades". Let the office know if you would like to adopt a table - advertising for you.
