Participants at any CBCO Donor Center on Friday, Dec. 22 or Friday, Dec. 29, receive a Fandango movie pass

JOPLIN, Mo. - Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) is giving blood donors the opportunity to get some great gifts during the Movie Mania Blood Drive. Each participant that gives either Dec. 22 or 29, at a CBCO donor center will receive a gift card good for one free movie admission from Fandango. Participants will also receive a long sleeved shirt with a special holiday message and will get LifePoints, which is CBCO’s donor rewards program.

There are a limited number of opportunities available on these days, so donors are strongly urged to make an appointment to give. You can do that by logging on to and clicking on the “donate” tab at the top of the website.

Movie Mania takes place ONLY at CBCO Donor Centers in Springfield and Joplin, Missouri, and Bentonville and Springdale, Arkansas. Special hours are in effect on both days:

• Thomson Donor Center-Springfield open 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• Bentonville Donor Center open 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• Springdale Donor Center open 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• Joplin Donor Center open 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

“Movie Mania is a fantastic incentive to offer to our blood donors, but the drive takes place at critical times,” CBCO Media Relations Representative Chris Pilgrim said. “With two long holiday weekends coming up, donations are expected to drop, but the need for blood never wavers. So these drives match up well with an expected holiday shortfall.”

In addition, the Miracle of Giving Blood Drive continues through the end of the year. Any donor at any CBCO blood drive will receive a long sleeved shirt with a special holiday message.

It’s easy to find a blood drive coming to your area. Log on to to find a complete list of upcoming blood drives and locations.

As the holiday season approaches, CBCO wishes to thank the thousands of blood donors, volunteers and advocates that are directly responsible for saving local lives every day. Thank you for giving life to your community.
