COLUMBUS - Robert Myers brought a hefty stack of papers before the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners Monday morning, as the long-awaited tax sale of delinquent properties moved step closer.
The total number of properties is currently 637, but Myers said there were 10 to 12 that he had flagged to go back and double check.
"I should have this to the Sheriff in the next few days to start on the subpoenas next," Myers said.
The total dollar amount of the properties is well over $900,000, and the sale could help the county recover some of that money.
"This is extremely good news," Commissioner Pat Collins said.
