Vincent Bruce Kite passed from this life January 21, 2018 at the age of 69 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Mo.

Vincent was born to the union of Vincent Claire and Aileen (Davis) Kite on March 22, 1948 in Baxter Springs, Kan. He and his wife Dana celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary November 2017. Vince graduated from Baxter Springs High School class of 1966 and attended Pittsburg State until he decided being a “road Scholar” was for him driving semi-trucks. Barely 22 years old Vince worked for Yellow Freight, Pilshaw Explosives and was hired by UPS out of Las Vegas, Nev. and Beaver, Utah retiring in 2001 with 26 years safe driving record. After UPS, he operated his own dump truck for five years. Vince belonged to the Masonic Lodge #71 of Baxter Springs, Kan. He loved panning for gold, metal detecting, hunting on horseback in the Utah Mountains, scuba diving, fishing, target shooting, Baxter Spring Heritage Museum which he was a volunteer for many years and his beloved pearl white Harley “Spirit of 76”

Vince was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sherril and Sharon. He leaves behind his wife Dana; sister, Trudy Rising (Jim); brother-in-law, Edmond Fuerst; daughters, Holly Capron (Bennie) and Cassie Courtney (Lance); son, Wade Kite; step-son, Jack Kelley (Jimmy); nephews, David Rising (Heather) and John Rising (Darla); grandsons, Brandon Buergin (Angela) and Bryce Buergin (Jessica); two nieces, Abra and Tanya Bentley; three great nephews; six great grandchildren; life long friends and his beloved black Labrador Target and Chloe cat.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Pastor Dennis Johnson will officiate. Masonic rites will be at the cemetery also.
