PITTSBURG - The Southeast Kansas chapter of the National Organization for Women (SEK NOW) is celebrating a successful menstrual product fundraiser with a 'Bloody Good Event' on Sunday, March 4.

Throughout the month of February, SEK NOW has been collecting menstrual products as part of the Bloody Good Cause fundraiser. The donated products will be given to the Wesley House and Pittsburg Community Schools USD 250 for distribution to girls and women in need.

To celebrate the successful donation drive, SEK NOW will host a Bloody Good Event at T.J. Leland’s, 108 W. 6th Street, Pittsburg. The event will feature drink specials on Bloody Mary’s and Bloody Maria’s with a portion of each drink donated to support SEK NOW. Music will be provided by Deadeye, an all-female bluegrass, rock, folk, and country band.

“I’m often grateful to be a member of Deadeye when we are asked to be a part of events such as these at which our music and friendship can be a resource to help our communities,” said Megan McCoy, who provides vocals, guitar, and violin for the bad. “Pittsburg is the town where we formed our band so we’re especially excited to return to the stage we made so many memories on!”

There is a $5 cover charge to attend, but will be waived for attendees donating a menstrual product at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the party will continue until 8:30 p.m.
