COLUMBUS - A lot has changed in the world since 1994. While fashion trends and technology have cycled many times over, so things have remained constant. At Monday morning's meeting, the Board of Cherokee County Commissioners presented the 2017 KAC awards to county employees who have provided years of dedicated service.

Four employees were recognized for working for the county for 24 years: Paul Adams, Backhoe Operator; Michael Barnett, Bridge Foreman; Brenda Clugston, Health Office Deputy; Linda Taylor, Health Office Clerk.

Three employees were recognized for reaching the 16 year mark: James Boyes, Grader Operator; Louis Schreiner, County Lot Supervisor; John York, Grader Operator.

Four employees were recognized for reaching the eight year mark: Lori Gabrielson, Judicial Assistant; Curtis Nida, Bailiff; Justin Noel, Deputy Sheriff Corporal; Stanley Sandra, County Lot Custodian.
