BAXTER SPRINGS - A local Eagle Scout was commemorated for his project at Fort Blair, prior to kicking off the 2018 Park Day event.
Each year the Civil War Trust sponsors Park Day. This annual event encourages volunteers to help maintain historic military sites across the nation. According to Museum Director Mary Billington, the Baxter Springs Heritage Center has participated for several years.
