COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The 2018 USA Powerlifting Collegiate National Championships were held April 19 through 22, in College Station, Texas. The event was hosted by Texas A&M University, and held in the Hall of Champions at the football stadium of Kyle Field.

The meet placed and medaled the five best lifters in the nation, according to their respective weight classification. The meet hosted hundreds of competitors from Universities across the country. Dayton Mooney (2016 Galena HS Graduate), representing Pittsburg State University, would claim the title of 3rd Best USA Collegiate Powerlifter in the nation, in his weight class, with his three lifts: Squat (650 lbs.), Bench (345 lbs.), and Deadlift (622 lbs.); totaling 1,617 lbs.

These lifts also awarded Mooney as a USAPL Kansas All-American, setting the Kansas state records in the Open and Junior Raw divisions for his Squat and Over-all Total.
