ELIZABETH, Colo. - The Kansas State Champion Columbus 14U Softball team competed in the Midwest Plains Regional last week in Elizabeth, Colorado. On the first day of play they defeated Alliance, Nebraska, and the Eastern Colorado Coyotes, before losing to the Denver Riptide.

They made it into bracket play and won their first game by defeating Harper, Kansas. They lost their second game on Saturday to the Eastern Colorado Coyotes to end their season. They won the Norm and Colleen Travis Sportsmanship Award for the Midwest Plains tournament.

Columbus has plenty of reason to be proud of these players and coaches. The award stands as a testament that they represented the community well.
