BAXTER SPRINGS - Premier baseball is returning to the tri-state area July 18 through July 21. With 64 teams scheduled in the age 17 and under division, twelve diamonds will be used, including our Field Of Dreams in Baxter Springs.
"They come from Canada, Texas, New York, North, South, and West," said Coach Don Karnes. "They come from all over and look forward to play in the various towns and on the different fields."
The teams that arrive in the area are high profiled teams. As many of the top professional and college ballplayers have journeyed through Field Of Dreams, and the surrounding fields, this give locals a chance to see possible future stars. You will also see many scouts at every field.
This is the thirteenth year that your Field Of Dreams diamond has been invited to participate in the Premier National Tournament. The brackets have not been released, but Baxter Springs has usually hosted ten teams for five games on Wednesday and Thursday. The tournament is re-bracketed on Friday. Again, at least four games are expected on Friday and Saturday.
