New board members provide fresh experience to Foundation

JOPLIN, Mo. – Kristie Crossland and Laurie Lowery joined Mercy Health Foundation board of directors on July 1, 2018. Both are active members of the Four States community and will be excellent additions to the Mercy team.

“We are very happy to have Kristie and Laurie join the board and assist us in furthering Mercy’s mission of providing excellent medical care and being the hands and feet of Jesus in our community,” said Chris Dumm, chair of Mercy Health Foundation board of directors.

The board helps to direct and further the work of Mercy Health Foundation, a nonprofit organization that spearheads efforts to build public support for health care in the community. The Foundation participates in fundraising events such as Stick It to Diabetes, an annual event that raises significant funds for diabetes care in the area.

Lowery said of the opportunity, “I am honored to join Mercy Health Foundation's board of directors and be given the chance to work with others to advance the Foundation's mission.”

Her background in strategic planning and project management as well as work as a CPA prepare her for the role. Lowery adds, “As a lifelong Joplin resident, I’m excited to be part of a group that strives to improve the quality of life for our community.”

Crossland is also active in the community and volunteers with the Boys and Girls Club. "I'm excited to be a part of Mercy Foundation and to help facilitate excellence and growth in the health care industry," she said. Crossland's experience in business and fundraising will prove valuable to the Foundation's board.
