CHEROKEE - With the bus races just a few days away, students from all grade levels chip in to give the race bus a new look this year. Senior Gracie Pritchett has taken the lead in designing the new look and has been involving as many other students as possible. On Wednesday, all elementary students were given the opportunity to trace their hand prints on the bus and have their name written inside the hand print. SHS students Gracie Pritchett and Alex Rice assisted. Other students will participate as well in the days leading up to the race.
Rumor has it that many of the area schools are looking to "out do" Southeast this year in all events. Southeast has been very successful in winning races. Last year, driver Ken Snyder drove the race bus to victory in every heat! The Lancers also took first place in the bus pull and the school spirit competition.
According to Dr. Miner, "if we are going to win again this year, we will need a big crowd. Every other school participating is looking to break our winning streak and it will be tough for them because you just can't been Lancer Pride!"
