Mike Carpino Ford and State Theatre Event Center will be sponsoring Jason Pritchett concert on Saturday evening, Oct. 6, during the Columbus Day Festival. Tickets are available for $10 per person in advance until Friday, Oct. 5, at Mike Carpino Ford and the Chamber office. On Saturday tickets will have to be purchased at the door for $15. Doors will open at 7 p.m., opening band at 8 p.m. followed by Jason Pritchett until midnight. Limited number of tickets. Have already had inquiries about tickets.

Ag EXPO is Thursday, Sept. 20 at the 4-H building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., set up is from 8 to 9 a.m. We still have vendor space available for $30 per space and this includes two tickets for lunch. Great schedule of workshops through the day, interest for both the general public and those in the agriculture industry. If you cater to the agriculture industry, would suggest that you think about being a vendor. This event was a great success last year and the Ag Committee hopes to carry this through to this year.

Leadership Columbus junior class begins this month on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Twelve students from the junior class will participate in four session through out the school term. The first session will be on tourism. This session is a hands on experience where the students will visit Maple UnCommon Guest House, Pitcher Pump B & B, Rowdy's Rustic Moose Lodge to see what is available in accommodations in Columbus. They have a chance to see, ask questions. They learn why tourism is important to a community, what we have available for visitors to see and do, what advertising we do. They tour on the trolley and pick up some history on the community.

We still are in need of a crew and a judge for Saturday flights of the Hot Air Balloon Regatta. If interested let us know.

If you want to attend the Miss Columbus banquet at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, reservations must be in by noon on Sept. 21; tickets are $20 per person and includes admission into the pageant. Pageant is at 7 p.m. in the CUHS auditorium, admission is $2 per person if not attending the banquet. Thank you to all businesses who have made donation for scholarships and gifts for the girls.

If you want to place something about your company in the time capsule that will be buried Oct. 6, it needs to be in the Chamber office by the end of this week. The committee has ordered the capsule and it should arrive this week, along with preservation items to protect what we place in the capsule. The company has also sent instructions on how the capsule should be buried and precautions take to protect the items.

Sunday, September 16 Culpepper & Meriweather Circus at 2 and 4:30 p.m. on American Legion Fair Grounds. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for kids. Sponsored by the Lions Club

Thursday, September 20 Ag EXPO at 4-H building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
