Miami, Okla. - Gregory Arthur Weiler II, was arrested and charged Thursday in Ottawa County District Court with Threat to Use Explosive, Incendiary Device, Simulated Bomb to Damage or Injure Persons or Property and Violation of Oklahoma Anti-terrorism Act. Weiler lists an Illinois address.

According to the probable cause statement on Thursday, Oct.4 at 11:12 a.m., officers with the Miami Police Department responded to a report of suspicious items located in the dumpster of the Legacy Inn and Suites at 2120 East Steve Owens Blvd. in Miami.

Officers located a green military sea bag that contained 50 brown glass bottles with gray duct tape attached to a section of cloth, 1 brown glass bottle, 1 red Flo-tool quick fill funnel, sections of blue and white polyester plaid pattern sheets, and an unknown green object. Officers also located a five gallon red gas can.

At 3:21 p.m. the officers were called back to the Legacy Inn and Suites in reference to items seen inside room 127 similar to those found in the dumpster earlier.

At 5:56 p.m a search warrant was executed on Room number 127 at the hotel registered to Weiler. Officers found a Miami Walmart receipt showing the purchase of sheets, a five gallon gas can, a funnel, and lighter fluid, a roll of gray tape containing cloth fibers consistent with that of the sheets, numerous bottle cloth fibers consistent with the sheets that were attached to the bottles, numerous bottle caps from Budweiser beer bottles, empty brown glass beer bottles that matched the bottles found in the sea bag, and an empty 20 count Budweiser beer box.

Inside the trash of the room officers found numerous sections of paper which was torn into sections and had writing on them. The papers were reassembled and found to contain a recipe for making Molotov cocktails, a list of 48 local churches, a hand drawn map of the listed churches grouped and circled, with a key detailing how many nights and how many people.

The probable cause statement says the paper contained, “A written outline of his intent to plant bombs, identify church buildings in this town, purchase ingredients for explosive devices, intent to document through videotaping, and 'Try to get away with it...maybe a plan out of town?'”

Inside the room on the bed, Miami Police Officers found a purple hand written journal with entry Number 20 stating “Self-Promote for the next 4 years while beginning list of goals written in Oklahoma having to do with destroying and removing church buildings from U.S., a tiny bit at a time- setting foundation for the years to follow.”

The officers also found inside the dumpster, where the original items were located, a Walmart plastic bag containing an unopened bottle of Kingsford lighter fluid. The bar code on the lighter fluid matched the bar code on the receipt located in the hotel room.

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the ATF were on there way to Miami to assist in further investigation today.
