PITTSBURG, Kan. (AP) - The Pittsburg State Gorillas were welcomed home by hundreds of cheering fans after they won the NCAA Division II football title game in Alabama.

But that was late December, and hundreds of students had already gone home for the holiday break. So on Saturday, the university and the city are celebrating the Gorillas all over again with a parade, a pep rally, speeches and fireworks.

Pittsburg State beat Wayne State 35-21 on Dec. 17 for its first national title in 20 years.

The Morning Sun (http://bit.ly/zLYENB ) reports that Saturday's parade begins at 1 p.m. at 10th Street and Broadway. The football team will be the last group to march, and fans are invited to join the line after that and proceed to the pep rally at Pritchett Pavilion.
