At 6:10 p.m. Monday a 911 call was placed reporting a two vehicle injury accident at U.S. Highway 166 and Southeast Prairie Road.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, Galena Fire Department, and the Baxter Springs Fire Department responded.
The driver of a 1991 GMC Jimmy, James Corcilius, was rear ended when Haley Watkins, driver of a 2005 Dodge car, looked up at her rearview mirror and failed to notice Corcilius had started slowing down to make a left turn onto Southeast Prairie Road. Watkins' vehicle ran into the back where of Corcilius' vehicle and Corcilius was transported from the scene to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, where he was treated and released.
Watkins was not injured in the accident.
