The 2009 Little Mr. and Miss Columbus will be crowned by Miss Columbus Lauren Chesner on Saturday evening, Oct. 3 during the Miss Columbus Pageant.

Children vying for the 2009 title are Hunter Burton, son of Craig and Amanda Burton; Luke Carlson, son of Chas and Amy Carlson; Autumn Rose Earls, daughter of Josh and Mandi Earls; Mason Estle, son of Phillip and Melissa Estle; Harlay Long, daughter of Nate and Heathar Long; Jade Parise, daughter of Shawn and Jonna Parise; Jace Reed, son of Traci Reed; Madison Richards, daughter of Drew and Kim Richards, and Olivia January, daughter of James January.

The Little Mr. and Miss Columbus contest is based on money brought in from donations for a $100 and two $50 Columbus gift certificates, which will be drawn on Saturday, October 10 during the Columbus Day Festival.

All money received from this activity goes toward entertainment for the Columbus Day Festival.. The festival provides both stage and street entertainment; new in 2009 will be “The Wings of Love” Bird Show from Kansas City, MO and “Cadence” a drum line from Springfield, MO (this group of men performed on America Got Talent in the 2008 season.

Each child participating receives a gift bag of goodies, a trophy, and will ride in the parade. The new Little Mr. and Miss Columbus will each receive a motorized vehicle, crown, and gift bag.
