The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is looking for vendors for their Farmers Market.  The agriculture committee of the Chamber of Commerce is looking for vendors that have not only garden produce, but baked goods, bedding plants, cut flowers, meats, eggs, jam & jellies, sauces, candy and crafts or anything else related to agriculture.

If items are purchased somewhere else and resold as fresh, a sign must show that it was not grown or made by you.  (Example: black diamond watermelons are grown in Oklahoma; you purchase a truck load and bring to Farmers Market.  A sign must state this fact for buyers will not think they were grown by you.)

Vendor space is free.  The Farmers Market will be open on Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the American Bank parking lot, 810 E. Maple, just off of Highway 69 at Maple Street.

The Market is set to  open  May 16, maybe the 9th if the weather will work with the gardening community.

Vendors that need a sales tax number may apply on the internet at  www.accesskansas.org/businesscenter/index.html or the Columbus Chamber of Commerce has the simple form.

For additional information contact the Columbus Chamber of Commerce at 320 E. Maple in Columbus; phone 620-429-1492 or email  columbuschamber@columbus-ks.com
