The Columbus Theta Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority showed their support for their fellow “sister” Judy Tedlock by surprising her at a meeting all wearing the same shirt that sported the slogan “Friends Don’t Let Friends Fight Cancer Alone”.
Judy was diagnosed in October 2009 of Adenocarcinoma Small Cell Lung Cancer. She has been courageously fighting and winning her battle as she continues chemotherapy treatments. The sorority sisters along with family members will be holding a benefit in honor of Judy on Friday, March 2 at the St Rose Parish Hall. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. and dinner served from 4 to 6 p.m.
Judy has been self-employed as a hairdresser in Columbus for over 25 years. She and her husband, Danny, have been married for 45 years and have lived in Columbus all their lives. Danny was forced into early retirement in 2006 when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. All proceeds of this benefit will go towards medical and insurance costs.
The dinner will consist of Chicken and Noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and a dessert for $6. Dine-In, carry-out and delivery will be available. Local businesses and schools will be contacted and if interested can call in or email number of dinners they would like delivered. You are also welcome to come on down to the Parish Hall and sit for a great dinner and visiting.
Shirts supporting Lung Cancer Awareness will be on sale at Team Threads in Columbus.
