The Cherokee County property tax sale planned for May 29 has been pushed back.
Cherokee County Counsel Kevin Cure said the notice needed to run at least 30 days before the sale and there was not enough time to get the notice finished before the deadline.
He said there were properties on which the taxes had been paid and properties which had title problems which needed to be taken out of the notice and a lot of comparison work which needed to be done before the notice was ready.
Cure said he wanted to make sure everything was correct before the notice was published.
The sale is currently planned for 10 a.m. June 9 at the Cherokee County Courthouse.
