The Columbus Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1372 was burglarized sometime early Saturday morning.

According to Steve Howard of the VFW, sometime between 3:30 a.m. and dawn Saturday, thieves broke into the VFW and stole several items. The News-Advocate will not identify what was stolen so as not to impede an on going investigation.

Howard said they would have to replace the front door and get a new padlock.

The Columbus Police Department Offense Report listed the crime as felony burglary and felony criminal damage.
