The Riverton FFA Chapter recently attended the Nursery/Landscape CDE performing well against other chapters of Southeast Kansas. By placing multiple times in the top ten spots, the Riverton Chapter was able to place first over all in both the A and B team categories.

Members of the Riverton Chapter competed in events such as identifying 50 tree, shrub, and other landscape samples, taking a 50 question written test, identification of 15 landscape tools, pests, and diseases, and calculations of a landscape plan and pesticide label.

Multiple members of the Riverton Chapter took places within the top ten of both the A and B team categories. In the A team category the following Riverton FFA members placed in the top ten; Lucas Stanley 1st, Chance Hunley 2nd, Isaac Culley 8th. The other members of the Riverton team in this category included Jake Ferneau and Beth Tygart. In the B team category Andrew Darcey of Riverton not only placed first, but also attained a score higher than that of any member in either the A or B team categories. The following Riverton B team members also attained rankings in the top ten of their category; Ali Youngblood 5th, Colton Reed 7th, Brock Vavra 9th. The other members of the Riverton team in this category included Matt Henson and Baily Connor.
