Marjorie Lee Parmele, 88, of Douglas, Kan. passed away Tuesday February 07, 2012 in Rose Hill, Kan.


She was born February 26, 1923 in Columbus, Kan. Marjorie DeVoe married Jack Parmele in 1941 in Girard, Kan. She worked odd jobs in her younger years, one such employer was J.C. Penny. She traveled through may states, from coast to coast; the north border to the south border; having lived in Kansas, Texas, Flordia, Claifornia and Kentucky.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Marie DeVoe; brother, Robert; sisters, Theda and Sally, all formally of Cloumbus, Kan.

Marjorie is survived by her husband Jack of the home; sons, J. Dennis (Loretta) of War Eagle, Ark., Robert C. (Sondra) of Douglass, Kan.; daughter, M. LuAnn Baker (Terry) of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Ned L. DoVoe of Columbus, Kan.; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 09, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. with services to follow Friday at 2 p.m., both at Lakeview Funeral Home. Fond memories and condolences for the family may be left at (Arrangements made by Lakeview Funeral Home (316) 684-8200).
