Christopher Kent Williamson, age 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior, at 8:40 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2012 at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Galena, Kan.

Chris was born January 6, 1952 in Joplin, Mo. His parents were James and Opal (Thomas) Williamson. He was a lifetime Baxter Springs resident.

He worked at B F Goodrich, Miami, Okla. from 1973 – 1986. From 1985 – 2000, he and his wife owned and operated Gemini Laundry and Dry Cleaning. He then began working at CFI, Joplin Mo. from 2001- 2008 where he was supervisor over shipping and receiving.

He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Baxter Springs, Kan. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #71, Baxter Springs, Kan. He was previously a member of the Baxter Springs Lions Club. He loved the outdoors doing activities like hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He most loved watching his grandchildren playing sports.

Chris was married to Rhonda Shipley, February 2, 1973 in Baxter Springs, Kan. She survives.

Additional survivors include one son, Jamie Williamson, Baxter Springs, Kan.; and three grandchildren, Kolton Williamson, Kameron Williamson, and Kloee Williamson.

His request was to be cremated under the care of Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Crossroads Christian Church, Baxter Springs, Kan. Pastor Dallas Satterfield and Pastor Tracy Rowe will officiate. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted at Greenlawn Cemetery, rural Columbus, Kan. after the memorial service.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Brewster, Les Page, Tracy Rowe, Todd Weaver, Shane Dotson, Jimmy Morton, James Krokroskia, Ken Caviness, and Travis Shaw.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Chris Williamson Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, Kan.
