David Lee Coldiron passed away peacefully at McKee Medical Center.

David was born in Columbus, Kan., to Homer and Edna Coldiron, the second of three boys, he grew up on the family farm having fun with his brothers.

After high school he married his sweetheart, Colleen Adeline Kienast. Soon after he enlisted in the Air Force, working in several high security positions. Dave and Colleen had two children, David Leroy and Evelyn Marie.

His career in the Air Force took the family all over the world, including London, England, and Istanbul, Turkey. He was also a Vietnam veteran. In his early 30's Dave was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Never one to complain, he met challenges head on and began a fight that would last 40 years.

Everyone that met him was greeted in a warm and courteous manner. He believed in the “Golden Rule” and always put others first. There was always an attempt to make others feel good and be happy. His favorite times were family get-togethers, his grandkids, outings and Kirsten's cooking.

Mr. Coldiron is survived by his son David and wife Kirsten; his daughter Evelyn; grandchildren David, Dylan, Darius, Adeline and Cody; great-grandchild Wyatt; his brother Jim Coldiron of Naples, Fla.; and his high school sweetheart, Colleen.

A funeral service was held at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Allnutt Funeral Service. Interment Fort Logan National Cemetery.
