Billie Marquita Bigando, 80, of Columbus, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
She was born October 24, 1931 at West Mineral, Kansas, the daughter of Finace Leroy and Verna Rosalie (Hayden) White. She attended school in West Mineral and graduated from West Mineral High School in 1949.
On July 6, 1956, she was united in marriage to Bob J. Bigando at Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2002.
Billie was a homemaker.
Membership was held in the First United Methodist Church of Columbus; Pink Ladies Auxiliary; and the Mineral Alumni Association Committee.
She is survived by two sons, Brad Bigando and his wife, Cathy of Joplin, MO and Brian Bigando and his wife, Kelli of Columbus, KS; a daughter, Becky Mogle and her husband, Doug of Columbus, KS; six grandchildren, Katie Moore and her husband, Justen, Jordan Bigando and his wife, Amanda, Jacob and Breana Mogle, Aaron and Sarah Bigando; a great-granddaughter, Mirabella Moore; and three brothers, Earl White and wife, Rose of Columbus, John White and wife, Margaret Ann of Columbus, and Kenny White and wife, Marilyn of rural Scammon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Service will be held at 10:30 a .m., Monday, February 6, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, with Rev. Margaret Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hosey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Derfelt Funeral Home in Columbus. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Sunday at the Brenner Mortuary.
