James C. McGee age 77 of

Joplin, Mo. passed away Wednesday June 8, 2011 at National Health

Care following an illness. James was born September 29, 1933 in

Ponca City, Okla. to Luther C. and Lelia (Mealer)

McGee.


"font-weight: normal">James was a member of the US Army during the

Korean War. He owned and operated McGee’s Drug Store in Columbus,

Kan. where he was the Pharmacist. He was a member of the First

Presbyterian Church in Columbus. He enjoyed gardening especially

his apple orchard. He also enjoyed boating with his family and

cooking out.

"font-weight: normal">James married Freddie (Reimer) on December

28, 1957 in Corn, Okla., she survives. Additional survivors include

one son, Anthony McGee and wife Mary of Joplin; one daughter, Cathy

Cranor of Joplin; one sister, Jo Beverly Walbert and husband George

of Dallas, Texas; three brother-in-laws, Gerald Reimer and wife

Joyce of Pahrump, Nev., Lavern Reimer of Oklahoma City, Okla., Ron

Reimer and wife Sharon of Bakersfield, Calif.; four grandchildren,

Matthew McGee and wife Holly, Donald McGee and wife Jessica, Hannah

Coats and husband Shawn, Lucas Cranor and wife Britany; two great

grandchildren, Alexis Coats and Brooklyn Cranor.

"font-weight: normal">James has been taken for cremation. Burial

will be at a later date in the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery. In lieu

of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or

the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the mortuary. Arrangements

are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and

Crematory.
