Anthony “Tony” A. Oplotnik Jr., age 69 of Baxter Springs, Kan. passed from this life Suddenly at his home Thursday, April 19, 2012.

Tony was born Febraury 10, 1943 in West Mineral, Kan. to the union of Tony and Mildred (Fouts) Oplotnik. He enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Angelo Oplotnik.

He is survived by his wife of eighteen years Jeri Andrews; two daughters, Tonya Banzet and husband Bruce of Ida, LA, and Michelle Pierce and husband Bobby of Bossier, La.; two step-sons, Dustin Andrews and wife Amy of Baxter Springs, Kan. and Jerod Andrews of Baxter Springs, Kan.; step daughter, Beth Andrews of Baxter Springs, Kan.; one sister, Mary Ann Shields of Oswego, Kan.; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one niece, Vicky Eubanks of Billings, Mont., one nephew, Bob Shields of Oswego, Kan.; along with many great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus. Pastor C.C. Craig will officiate. Burial will follow in the Edgmand Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhome.com.
