Charles Irven Crowe 46, of Cherokee, Kan. passed away 5:34 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan. following an illness.

Charles was born February 15, 1965 in Girard, Kan., the son of Donald Lee and Erma Joan (Scales) Crowe.

He grew up in Texas and attended area schools. Charles was a veteran of the Army and the National Guard.

On January 29, 2000 Charles married Vickie Brewer in Branson, Mo., she survives at the home. Charles worked in the Asphalt and Paving Business for many years. Charles was of the Christian Faith, a member of the Cherokee Ruritan, Cherokee American Legion, an active City Council Member and his family was the most important thing in his life.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother David Crowe.

Survivors include his children, Sharon White and husband Bryan of Pittsburg, Kan., Cara Brisbin Burns and husband Jeremy of Scammon, Kan., Ashley Cochran and Shaun Long of Pittsburg, Kan., Cody Crowe of Pittsburg, Kan., Franklin Brisbin Jr. and Crystal Seely of Cherokee, Kan. and Courtney Crowe of Cherokee, Kan.; mother, Joan Mowrey and stepfather Mickey Mowrey of Cherokee, Kan.; siblings, Debbie Houdashelt of Pittsburg, Kan., Donita Burton and husband Kenny of Columbus, Kan., Jimmy L. Crowe and wife Talisha of Cherokee, Kan., Richard Crowe and wife Brenda of Lamar, Mo., Donald Wayne Crowe of Cherokee, Kan., Leanna Scott and husband Jim of Mulberry, Kan., Peggy Shipley of Dallas, Texas and Sherry Ramirez of Dickens, Texas; 14 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will 10 a.m. Wednesday April 6, 2011 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, Kan. with Rev. Pauline Clugston officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, Kan. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday April 5, 2011 at the funeral home; friends may call after 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
